Is All-on-4 right for me?
All-on-4 is for people missing a full arch of teeth, or about to lose them. It is placed where your jawbone is densest, so most patients avoid bone grafting. With severe bone loss, some grafting may still be needed. Dr. Haywood checks this on your 3D scan at the consultation.
Healing and aftercare
Recovery is usually quick. The implants bond with the bone over the following months (osseointegration) while you wear your temporary teeth. Your new teeth are cleaned like natural teeth, with check-ups and professional cleanings.

Eat, smile and speak with confidence
Fixed teeth that don't slip or move, so you can enjoy your favorite foods again. On the upper arch the palate stays uncovered, so food tastes like food.
Benefits
A full set of teeth that stays put.
A secure hold
Your new teeth are fixed to four implants, so they won't slip or move when you talk or laugh.
Enjoy your favorite foods
Chew with far more force than a denture allows, and taste your food with an open palate.
Protects your jawbone
Implants stimulate the bone like tooth roots do, helping to prevent the bone loss that changes the shape of the face.
Often no bone grafting
Placing the implants where your bone is strongest means most patients skip grafting surgery.
Easy to care for
No adhesives and no taking them out at night. Brush, clean around them and keep up with your check-ups.

Planned with care, placed with precision

Every All-on-4 case is planned on a 3D scan before anything happens in your mouth.
Dr. Steven Haywood, DDS, uses the scan to choose where each implant goes and to design your new teeth, and a surgical guide made from that plan helps place them exactly. You see the plan before you decide.
3D CT scan
Before treatment, a CT scan lets us design your implants and your new teeth on the computer, so nothing is guesswork on the day.
Surgical guide
We frequently make a custom surgical guide so each implant goes exactly where the computer plan put it.
Strongest bone
The four implants go where your jawbone is densest, which is how most patients avoid bone grafting.
Temporary teeth
A temporary full arch is attached at your implant appointment, so you never go without teeth while you heal.

Frequently asked questions
What does All-on-4 mean?
All-on-4 describes four dental implants that support a full upper or lower set of teeth. It lets more patients have implant teeth by avoiding extra implants and costly bone surgery.
Are All-on-4 implants removable?
No. All-on-4 teeth are fixed in place. They are only taken out by our team for professional cleaning, and are made to last for many years before any significant maintenance.
Do All-on-4 implants feel natural?
They are designed to feel as natural as possible. Unlike dentures that press on your gums, you don't feel pressure or discomfort once the implants have healed.
How is All-on-4 different from dentures?
You can't take All-on-4 teeth out, and there are no adhesives. On the upper arch the palate isn't covered, so you taste food better, and you can chew with far more force than with a denture.
What kind of implants are used?
Titanium implants are used for All-on-4. The implants we use at Southern York Smile Care are American made and suited to the All-on-4 technique.
How much does All-on-4 cost?
It depends on your mouth: one arch or both, how many teeth need removing, and what your 3D scan shows. You get an exact plan and cost at your consultation before anything starts, and monthly payment plans are available through CareCredit and Cherry.
How long do All-on-4 implants last?
They are made to last for many years. Brushing, cleaning around the bridge and regular professional cleanings keep the implants and gums healthy.
Does the procedure hurt?
The area is numbed, and sedation is available if you are anxious or want to be more relaxed. Most patients have a short recovery time.
Do I need bone grafting?
Usually not. All-on-4 is designed to avoid grafting by using the strongest part of the jaw. With severe bone loss, some grafting may still be needed, and Dr. Haywood will tell you after your 3D scan.
