THE BENEFITS OF PORCELAIN VENEERS
A great smile is an important social asset and healthy teeth provide you confidence to chew and to smile without discomfort or embarrassment. Porcelain veneers are the ultimate solution to the problems we have listed above. Porcelain veneers are conservative of tooth structure and provide strength matching anything we have to offer as cosmetic and restorative dentists. Our holistic dentistry approach strives to do as little as possible to achieve the healthy smile everyone wants and deserves. Responsible dental treatment these days means avoiding aggressive tooth shaping and grinding of healthy tooth structure that may eventually damage and weaken the tooth. Cosmetic dentistry and porcelain veneers are the ultimate solution for your best smile. Non-invasive dentistry, when possible, is our goal at Southern York Smile Care in Shrewsbury, PA and also in our offices in Baltimore County Maryland.
As well as boosting your confidence and improving your appearance, porcelain veneers can fix a variety of dental problems, such as:
Worn-down teeth
Misaligned, uneven teeth
Discolored, stained, or yellowed teeth
Gaps between teeth
Cracked, chipped, or broken teeth
Teeth that are too small or large
CARING FOR YOUR VENEERS
While veneers have a lifetime potential, statistics say they can last on average to 15 to 20 years or more if cared for properly.
To improve the lifespan of your veneers, you’ll want to follow a few guidelines:
Avoid eating hard foods such as ice, candy, popcorn, and nuts
See us for your regular cleanings so that we may maintain our work for you
Refrain from tooth-staining foods and beverages such as red wine, berries, and coffee
Brush your teeth twice a day, floss once a day, and rinse between meals
Do not use your teeth as a tool to open items or chew fingernails
Wear a protective guard regularly at night to hold teeth in place and protect from bruxism

Single Tooth Implant
When one tooth is missing, a dental implant can serve as a total tooth replacement, Instead of the tooth root, Dr. Haywood places a titanium dental implant into the area where the former root used to live. A single tooth implant looks and acts just like one of your own teeth.

BEFORE & AFTER
TESTIMONIALS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much are veneers for a full mouth?
A complete set of porcelain veneers can range in price depending on the product you choose. They are often similar to the price of a crown. Veneers in our area range from $1400-$2000 per tooth. We provide affordable dental care and payment plans to help you achieve your smile goals at our dental clinic.
Are veneers safe long-term?
Porcelain veneers are safe and long-lasting, making this dental solution a great investment for your oral health.
How long does it take to get veneers?
Porcelain veneers can be made in as little as one week in some circumstances. We normally meet with our patients in consultation, review options, and an appointment is set for preparations of the teeth. In two weeks the porcelain veneers are normally ready and can be inserted by bonding them to your teeth. We don’t ever rush, however, we can meet your needs if a smile makeover has a specific deadline for you.
How much of the tooth is filed down for veneers?
A very small amount of the original tooth enamel is removed to apply veneers, usually less than 1/2 millimeter. This is essential as it creates room for the veneer to fit on the tooth and most accurately restore a tooth’s natural appearance without being too bulky. However, minimal or no preparation is a possibility when closing gaps or treating teeth that need to be larger. We can use porcelain that’s extremely thin for no-prep veneers where little or no enamel is removed.
Do veneers ruin your teeth?
Porcelain veneers do not harm your teeth. They are a great alternative and improvement for decayed, broken, or chipped teeth. Compared to dental crowns, porcelain veneers are extremely conservative and just as strong.
Do I need braces before I get veneers?
Veneers cover your teeth and change their appearance. No braces are normally required before placing veneers, however, there are instances where Invisalign clear aligners worn prior to placing veneers will help us create the most beautiful smile and eliminate unnecessary drilling on your teeth. So it CAN be an advantage for some patients.
Do you brush your teeth with veneers?
You can care for your porcelain veneers by brushing and flossing your teeth daily. Proper oral hygiene is essential, even with veneers.
Am I a candidate for porcelain veneers?
There are many reasons why patients choose porcelain veneers, from improving their appearance to correcting dental issues. You’re an ideal candidate for porcelain veneers if you want to cover broken or chipped teeth, even out the appearance of your teeth, conceal teeth that have been fractured, cover stains resistant to whitening agents, or just to have the most glamourous and amazing smile you could ever wish for!
